G-unit Report..let the games Begin…..

Since there is always about 50 issues surrounding 50..EVIL will only concentrate on top 3 questions that may impact the release of this project..

1. Will ‘Thisis50.com’ make a difference on 50’s first week sales?

The industry is watching closely to see if this site is the real deal. In the past you needed big support from MTV, BET, AllHiphop, SOHH.com, Billboard.com and XXL to promote your new release..we all know when 50 dropped ‘Curtis’..he got crazy resistance from almost ALL of the media outlets. We also know ..if you want to do it right..do it yourself..the question is how many of the members from the site will actually purchase the T.O.S album on the first week of it’s release.

EVIL notes..if 50’s fans drop a number on Billboard..expect to see 'This is *name your favorite rapper*- dot com' dropping for every rapper in the industry real soon..

2. Will the 50 Cent 'secret' backlash have an impact on T.O.S. sales?
Nah..it’s not a secret anymore (check the latest interviews)..that boy Fif done pissed some people in some high places off..don’t believe me? Check Billboard.com…it’s the night before G-unit releases T.O.S. and you can’t even find one trace that the Unit even exists (Nas made the front page though)..in fact the best part is they (Billboard.com) released a ‘Summer Music guide’ which shows the summer's top albums to released by date and month..look up July 1st..and guess who’s supposedly dropping an album that day..NAS..no mention of G-unit..(interesting fact: L.A.X. made the list for 8 July though)

For the record: Evil is a DJ who still supports hip hop by purchasing the top releases almost every Tuesday (old habit)..it was also on a Tuesday while out copping Banks' and others...that I stumbled upon the 50 Cent conspiracy plot at a small undisclosed F.Y.E. in the Tri-state area…I call this…

I’m not saying ALL F.Y.E.’s fall into this conspiracy..but every since I saw it for my own two eyes..I never looked back..and I go there for every single G-unit release to see what they are going pull on 50 next…Evil is entertained

Lloyd Banks-Rotten Apple…

This particuliar F.Y.E. would sell you Banks’ CD..but give a ‘Rod Stewart’ discount to drop the CD to 11.99..The Catch?..they would report it to Soundscan as a Rod Stewart sale..Result? Rod Stewart beat out Banks that week for the #1 spot..EVIL notes....This is the same tactic they used to lower Black Movie ticket sale grosses


Young Buck-Buck the World..

This time I didn’t see..Young Buck anywhere in the new release section..so I asked the two guys at the counter..they responded that they didn’t know who Young Buck was (???)..so I told them that the huge F.Y.E. in NYC had Buck signing autographs at the exact time I was buying trying to purchase his album at this store..they still played dumb. Turns out they put Bucks album in the section of newer CDs that already passed their first week of sales..why is this significant? Because they stickered Bucks album at FULL price and didn’t give the discount that all the other new releases got…these guys are good..I still copped..EVIL is entertained

50 Cent’s-Curtis..

This time they got bold..When 50 sold out this initial batch of CDs..they just conveniently would stop restocking it..but they kept restocking Kanye’s album as soon as it would get low..that was until a guy who just showed up for work brought a full box from the back and put it right next to the box of Kanye's that sat behind the counter when too many customers asked back 2 back for the CD..Fif got em' mad...EVIL is entertained

Evil Notes- 50 may have burnt a few bridges when he talked about those ‘Mom and Pop stores’..but he was dead on when he said it’s easy to pad the sales..ask Lupe Fiasco how Def Jam conveniently added sales to his first album after the results had already come out..and did Weezy really sell that much? Who knows? Too bad I’m telling the truth about that F.Y.E. store

3. What has to happen for T.O.S. to be considered a success?

A lot of things have to come together for this album to ring some #’s which only adds more questions than answers…

- Did Interscope even ship enough albums for The Unit to drop some numbers?
It’s hard to tell..it’s clear that the company went out of it’s way to promote Game’s Pain and Two Busta Rhyme singles over the Unit

- Will the people that downloaded 1 million of the last three mixtapes walk into the Best Buy, Target, and Walmarts to support the album?

- Will 50s promo tour for the first week of sales make an impact?
If it was me..I’d take over Flex like baack in the day..and do another classic G-unit live freestyle..

Is T.O.S. worth buying?

If you work for any of the B.W.S./ Terror Squad/Inc street team you may have spent the last week on the internet typing 'no' again and again and again from every phantom profile you ever created..on the other hand..if you are a fan of 50 Cent..the opposite will be true..The Evil truth is unlike 50’s ‘Curtis’ and Weezy’s ‘Carter 3’…T.O.S. is exactly the kind of material that you expected the artist to put out..and honestly that's all you can ask..is it perfect?..nah..but I can’t name a retail hip hop album in a looong time that is..point is at this point they didn’t stray from what got them here..and probably was the best commercial for the new solo material that they have done in a long time..Short answer..YES..you can catch EVILDEAD copping two copies on Tuesday..One at my favorite F.Y.E. store and One at Target (so it will actually count on soundscan)
