Fif, I recently saw an interview with you conducted on stage at Howard University, and after audience interruption, you went on to comment that lil wayne had been on TV since he was 14, so nothing he raps about can be factual. Now I like you, and I like him too, but when you said that, what went through my mind was, "That n**** (lil wayne) is the Miley Cyrus of hip hop." LOL (for about 3 mins.) Obviously, with the demographics of record sales, the vast majority of purchasers can't necessarily directly or indirectly relate to things artists rap about. In addition, they probably have not had experience with those things first hand (i.e. violence, poverty, law enforcement violation, etc.), but rather enjoy the rawness of emotions brought up by the artist, whether those depictions are accurate or not. Hence, my question to you is: How do you feel this contributes to the death of hip hop?
As an educated black male who grew up in Baltimore way before The Wire was conceived, I'll just say that I find myself with a lot more time on my hands in this recession, which gives me the time to explore many more ideas regarding hip hop culture and its relevant marketing and business development in regards to my own experience. I sincerely hope to receive a reply from you regarding this question.
Are you in any telecommunications businesses? I can see you as a major player in the game doing business with AT&T and Verizon. I have been in this business for 10 years. With a name like yours can prosper to a national company.
now i see why u ain't holla at me yet bc everytime somebody post on here that they s*** hot. u get dissapointed when you take that time out to listen so with that i know u ain't even hear me yet but when u do i guarantee legendary......$100,000,000 man and when i get signed i'ma show u this message...Star
The problem with success in this music business is the opinions of the artist reps, it's like there def to good talent if u give me the opportunity just hear my business proposal i guarantee another take over. it's tough even with my level of skill and my staff of legendary artist. upcoming mc's have no chance at a shot bc the actual leaders such as 50 cent, Jayz, diddy, Eminem, Dre, etc don't get to hear the talent. so i forcast the day when hot 97.1 will start spinnning rockin roll bc hip hop will be so far in the casket.
A 50 f*** with everybody sayin u tha best n tha game can't no 1 do it like u bein just a youngniggas maken it u good dig ill well be seein u n a cuppoal monts on me
50 would you go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3gPRSgIcbE on youtube search and listen to this dude. he's the legend of the south. but they scared the death of him. all of the labels, dtp, outkast and them, t.i, block, sosodef, every label don't know how to shop him because he's to good. eightball was in the studio doing a song with him and he had to crumble that s*** up and go back in. he was with a crew that had money and know biz smarts. you could lock the south with this dude. he's in a class all by his self.
I was wondering when you were going to be back in Georgia...the ATL. I really love your music and can't wait to see you in concert again. Also, do you have any new movie projects underway? Thanks, hope to see you soon!
did ross really gross $46 million on tour in 2011/2012? hard to believe imo, even tho he might be one of the hottest rappers out now.
