Personally, Im from the South and I have watched this man grow up in the industry. From me, being 10 listenin to him, to me being 20 now. On the eve of his album release, tell me why he IS or AINT the best right now, and possibly a LEGEND. I noticed that he is the subject of a lotta hate on here, so I want to see what the people REALLY THINK...

me personally I think he is good but he can be overrated if Carter 3 is a classic an he drops like another one or two classics then maybe he can label himself as the best rapper alive until then he's just gotta carry on spitting

i dont hate Lil wayne i hate da people da claim da n**** is da best rapper alive da s*** uks me...33% of da s*** da n**** spits is border line retarded, 33% is decent, 20% is above average and about 15% is fire...rappers like Common, Nas, Jay-Z, Talib Kwali, Eminem, Jadakiss, Mos Def, Andrea 3000... are all lyricly better then lil wayne but these retards keep claiming his da best alive..da n**** is about do drop his 6 album and he does not have one classic...majority of da people claiming his da best never heard 500 degrees, lights out or da block is hot...they are basing there opinion of off da niggas last 10 plus mixtapes...u cannot crown a n**** da best rapper alive base of mixtapes dats like saying the Redskin's are da best tean in da NFL in August because they won all there exibition games them s**** dont count

i dont know what to say. I have heard all the stories from people around growing up. I heard about him getting smacked up in front of his girl a while back in high school and the dudes stole his whip and wayne was sitting on the curb CRYING calling baby beat them up....lol...I heard he always used to get robbed in his own hood....He has too many Tear drops on his face for comfort. Hes just a fake...now RAPPING is a different story...He was really consistant during the mixtape days a couple years back and every once and awhile he will spit something hot but most of the time now he says off the wall dumb s***. Personally i dont wanna listen to a crack head on the mic. And its hard to listen to someone with a fake past and who kisses his DADDY whose name is BABY. Plus u can tell Gillie the kid used to write his s*** because there flow is exactly alike. And Wayne didnt write his first 4 albums he only wrote The Carter 2 and 3 so what does that tell u. Definately not a legend but lyrically right now today yes he is top 5...
