And yes MLK was a republican......WAS.....until all party lines changed, you're looking for a conspiracy my friend, and there isn't any. Other than Bush rigging both of his elections, and setting up a way to stop the 2008 elections.

The current Republican party is a racist machine,they use every chance to scapegoat the Black community to gain White votes.If Martin King was a Republican he was probably the type of Republican like Taft,or Theodore Roosevelt.In other word like Rockerfella they were institutionalist,who valued education individuality,and conservative values.Those republicans are gone for the racist fanatical,right wing types that followed Strom Thurmond in the Republican party after the Democrates introduced a civil rights plank in the Late 40's.Please just dont goggle and paste info you half as know do your reseach.

In a recent speech to the NAACP, Vice President Gore said his father lost his Senate seat because he supported civil rights legislation. Fellow black Americans, let me set history straight. Al Gore, Sr., together with the rest of the southern Democrats, voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Congressional Quarterly reported that, in the House of Representatives, 61% of Democrats (152 for, 96 against) voted for the Civil Rights Act as opposed to 80% of Republicans (138 for, 38 against). In the Senate, 69% of Democrats (46 for, 21 against) voted for the Act while 82% of Republicans did (27 for, 6 against).

All southern Democrats voted against the Act.
