If you on this site, you have a love for hip hop because hate 'em or love 'em G-Unit is hip hop. So when did you fall in love with hip hop? What year that it happen & who was your 1st favorite artist when it happen? Be real with it! If it was Hammer, Kid 'n Play or the Dj Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince it's cool because they all was hip hop.
I fell in love with hip hop in 88 I was 8 years old & I heard my older brothers bumping NWA's dopeman. I heard hip hop before NWA but I didn't like it. I was never was a Run DMC fan. NWA just spoke to me because I'm from the hood & I looked up to my brothers so I like whatever they liked. Straight Outta Compton was the 1st album I heard & it changed my life & I've been in love with hip hop ever since.
Def. agree, but I think what really got me was when I first heard LL Cool J's "Jingling Baby" and "Around the Way Girl." The very first rap cassette tape I ever bought, yes a cassette tape LOL was LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out," s*** was dope.
Well thats hard to pinpoint...but I will try. Sugar Hill Gang Rappers Delight, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five The Message, Salt 'n Pepa showstopper...the list is infinite....but that was when hip hop was waaaaaaaaaaay better!!!
When i heard someone will lyrical defeat LL cool J finally
i didnt belive it, cause he was always on top in the billboard
so when canibus came out with Second round K.O
the entire hip-hop industry looked at hip hop and questioned " whats the difference between a lyricist and a def jam idol lol"?
So when 50 says hell beat lil wayne because of his consistency, it has nothing to do with consistency, the streets view lil wayne as the monster of hip hop lyrical, just like everybody viewed canibus when he went vs LL
When Can-i-bus dropped i started researching hip-hop more
What good is it to win the battle but lose the war? Canibus made that 1 song then disappeared, never to be heard from again. So consistency is important. I have no doubt that Lil Wayne could make 1 maybe even 2 good records going at 50 but 50 can make a whole mixtape going at you and destroy your creditbility.
No doubt CHUCKIE, everybody know at that time everybody had their clothes on backwards & growing afros to get braids. My favorite song from Kriss Cross was Way Of The Rhyme, man I thought that was the hardest s*** back in the day but I was only 12 though.
lol i cant front i was pumpin jump in my headphones..lol 8th grade senior trip..lol but then right after that i'd hear punks jump up to get beat down and what not..lol
I know 50 doesnt give a f*** about Hip Hop at this point
But I beive he can still make a Classic
50 signing the artist he did is just a continuation of the common theme that has followed his career and thats 50 going against the Grain
It could have…
Haha. They will join spider loc 40 glocc hot rod and governor as a "never-was"
That's the thing about 50 he can't create stars. Nobody from g unit has EVER seen 2 album plaques and never will. They just get one off the wave then…
