AFTER READING A POST DONE CALLED NASTY ASS MEN, I'M DISTURBED BY WHAT I'VE READ. HOW COULD A WOMAN THAT CAME FROM FLESH SO BLACK AS NIGHT, PUT ON A SHIP AND SENT BE A SLAVE (FOR DA FREE) HATE BLACK MEN. YOU TELL ME. AND UPLIFT OUR NUBIAN BROTHERS, OUR KINGS, ATLEAST THE GOOD ONES, ALL BLACK MEN NORE MEN PERIOD AREN';T NO GOOD.WE JUST CANT PUT BROTHAS DOWN LIKE THAT.
I LOVE BLACK MEN I HAVE ONE, AND HE'S MILK CHOCOLATE, AND WROTE THIS POEM LAST YEAR. ENTITLED:
My Black Man
The ripples on the chest
Of my black man are the best.
And so are his eyes, hands, nose and mouth
His cockiness I could surely do without.
In the mind of my black man,
You might think he’s making his bed to jail,
Or preparing his body for a trip to hell.
But listen a little closer and I’ll tell you a tale
My black man wont be‘livin in no cell
I’ll never have to drag my purse down to the courthouse and bail.
He’s too cocky that black man of mine
He’ll talk his way out even if he did commit the crime.
He’s surly not humble I tell you he’s not,
He thinks he’s the best.
He’ll need help on his quest
And wont want to rest.
He wants to learn I know he does
But its hard to convince the world he’s not growing young.
I never know what’s really going through his head
That black man says “I’m gonna live my life until I‘m dead.”
In the heart of my black man
Pride takes it’s stand
My man wont need a helping hand, he says
“I got two, what will another one do?”
That black man indeed
Has a mind of his own as you see
He’ll understand one day
That he wont live on this earth for long, wont stay.
He’ll do without his cockiness
He’ll become humble and pride less.
He’ll even begin to ask for help on his quest.
The chatter will be torn ’til silence subsides
And he’ll also remain that black man of mine.
The rules of the land he’ll have to abide.
