Blessings,
My name is Carlos Heredia and I am the founder of Hip Hip Heredia musical theatre and activist, writer/composer/lead actor of the new musical “Then Sean Met Khalid.” After much success in Colorado, I am gearing up to return to NYC for a run of Then Sean Met Khalid: The musical.
I have been working hard to produce work that empowers, EDU-tains, and sparks a desire for the difficult conversations to occur; which too often is triggered after a tragedy. I have read about, and seen some of the many business ventures 50 has pursued and accomplished, and I would love to have the opportunity to showcase my work. All I ask is one opportunity, please RSVP at 646.246.1747 or at hiphipheredia@gmail.com. You will see something refreshingly different and I promise you won't be disappointed.

ABOUT THE SHOW Then Sean met Khalid is a thought provoking and at times quite hilarious musical that tackles racism in a refreshingly different manner. It is the story of a middle-class white family who adopts a black baby, Sean White. Life seems “normal” for Sean until he comes across an interview between Sean Hannity and the late Dr. Khalid Abdul Muhammad. The characters are startlingly relatable; the scenes are uncomfortably close to home and prompt immediate self-reflection. With the help of powerful songs, the show cleverly tackles white privilege in a very accessible way, delivers a powerful message without preaching, and is a clear call to arms to rise above the veiled racism in America.

ABOUT CARLOS HEREDIA Back in 2006 activist, writer, composer, director, performer Carlos Heredia was working as a janitor for a NYC middle school when he first realized the lack of art education programs. Determined to fill in the void, the New York native created Hip Hip Heredia, a musical theatre program for teens. Heredia created positive, original musicals which encouraged teens to foster a sense of stewardship toward their community. Moving to a predominantly white community in Boulder, Colo., at the end of 2009, Heredia continued his activism by creating material that breaks the stereotypes in the media, empowers and educates. Heredia is committed to theatre with a purpose that is entertaining for all.
