By day, thousands of conference registrants network in the halls of the Austin Convention Center on their way to do business in the SXSW Trade Show, and to sit in on informative panel discussions featuring some of the industry’s key players, as well gain insight from legendary keynote speakers. By night, SXSW showcases roughly 2,000 musical acts from around the globe, representing well over 50 different countries, on over 90 stages in downtown Austin. SXSW MUSIC has grown from 700 registrants in 1987 to over 16,000 registrants. As Austin has grown and diversified, film companies and high-tech companies have played a major role in the Austin and the Texas economies. In 1994, SXSW added a film and interactive component to accommodate these growth industries. SXSW Film and SXSW Interactive events together attract approximately 32,000 registrants to Austin every March; this a great chance to expose your music to some of the most influential people in music as well as thousands of fans!

SXSW INTERACTIVE is focused on emerging technology, a focus which has earned the festival a reputation as a breeding ground for new ideas and creative technologies

Collectively, SXSW is the highest revenue-producing event for the Austin economy, with an estimated economic impact of $167 million in 2011.
